13th Australian Space Forum sees a bright future in space

3 March 2022

The 13th edition of the bi-annual Australian Space Forum, held in Adelaide, this year featured representatives from the Australian, European and Canadian Space Agencies, as well as three panels focussing on Australia’s space future including the ADF’s use of space; space traffic coordination and management; and long-term space habitation.

More than 70 organisations also showcased their contribution to Australia’s sovereign space industry. Every state was invited to demonstrate their own contribution to the Australian Government’s space strategy of tripling the sector’s contribution to GDP to AUD$12 billion and creating an additional 20,000 direct jobs by 2030?

New South Wales is leading the pack, being home to 41% of all Australian space businesses – including Av-Comm — and generating half of Australia’s space export revenue.
