The Research Concepts RC4500 Satellite Earth Station Control Unit is an advanced Antenna Control Unit (ACU) designed to operate with large aperture satellite antennas that utilise advanced positioning and tracking methodologies such as Two Line Element (TLE), Step Track, Memory Track, and Point and Shoot.
The Research Concepts RC4500 Satellite Earth Station Control Unit utilises a modern design architecture to support a web browser based Graphical User Interface/Remote Front Panel with optional spectrum analyser functionality ideal for teleports and earth stations, or for unmanned facilities. The RC4500 supports Simple Network Monitoring Protocol (SNMP) to provide detailed system performance information including alarms, resolver positions, and RSSI information.
The Research Concepts RC4500 supports positioning and geosynchronous inclined orbit tracking in the C, Ku, L, Ka, and X Bands by utilising 16-bit position resolvers providing 0.005 degree angle resolution. The Research Concepts RC4500 controller can directly drive 24V DC motors (10 amp max) or can be integrated into a Drive Cabinet to support larger antennas system utilising single and three phase AC motors for positioning.
Av-Comm has extensive experience integrating the Research Concepts range of Antenna Control Units (ACUs) and Drive Cabinets with new or existing antenna systems. Av-Comm has successfully integrated Andrew, Scientific Atlanta, Vertex, NEC, Suman, and Prodelin antenna systems with Research Concept Controllers and is able to provide consultation to assist customers with integrating their existing antenna system to support motorisation, Inclined Orbit tracking, and active antenna positioning (for large aperture or high frequency Ku, Ka, Q, and E Bands).
